The ideas that have lighted my way have been kindness, beauty and truth. - Albert Einstein
This is the Way of Peace: Overcome evil with good, falsehood with truth, and hatred with love... - Peace Pilgrim (1908-1981)
The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of people when they realize their relationship, their oneness with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center of the universe dwells the Great Spirit, and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us. - Black Elk, Sioux spiritual leader (1863-1950)
Be vegan, make peace. That's all we have to do. And love. - Supreme Master Ching Hai, world-renowned spiritual teacher and humanitarian.
We are humans who see clearly the barbarity of all ages except our own. - Ernest Crosby, Author, Reformer (1856 - 1907)
It is because we have at the present moment everybody claiming the right of conscience without going through any discipline whatsoever that there is so much untruth being delivered to a bewildered world. - Mohandas K. Gandhi, The Words of Gandhi, ca 1930
The thinking person must oppose all cruel customs, no matter how deeply rooted in tradition and surrounded by a halo. When we have a choice, we must avoid bringing torment and injury into the life of another. - Albert Schweitzer
Life is life's greatest gift. Guard the life of another creature as you would your own because it is your own. On life's scale of values, the smallest is no less precious to the creature who owns it than the largest ... - Dr. Lloyd Biggle Jr., Musician, Author, Historian (1923 - 2002)
Whether one believes in a religion or not, and whether one believes in rebirth or not, there isn't anyone who doesn't appreciate kindness and compassion. - Dalai Lama

It was one little question, but it changed my world view: just because I could exert power over some weaker being, didn't mean I was supposed to. - Victoria Moran

As long as humanity continues to be the ruthless destroyer of other beings, we will never know health or peace. For as long as people massacre animals, they will kill each other. Indeed, those who sow the seed of murder and pain cannot reap joy and love. - Pythagoras (570 BC - 495 BC)
Man cannot pretend to be higher in ethics, spirituality, advancement, or civilization than other creatures, and at the same time live by lower standards than the vulture or hyena. The Pillars of Ahimsa indisputably represent the clearest, surest path out of the jungle, and toward the attainment of that highly desirable goal. - H. Jay Dinshah, Out of the Jungle, 1967
Children trained to extend justice, kindness, and mercy to animals become more just, kind, and considerate in their relations to each other. Character training along these lines will result in men and women of broader sympathies; more humane, more law-abiding, in every respect more valuable citizens. - National PTA Congress
Nothing living should ever be treated with contempt. Whatever is it that lives, a man, a tree, or a bird, should be touched gently, because the time is short. - Elizabeth Goudge (1900-1984), The Joy of Snow
History shows us that the people who end up changing the world – the great political, social, scientific, technological, artistic, even sports revolutionaries – are always nuts, until they are right, and then they are geniuses.
- John Eliot
Compassion respects all forms of life and recognizes the right of each to fulfill its own purpose. - C. David Coats, Old MacDonald's Factory Farm
Did you ever wish you could make a positive difference in the world?
Did you ever wonder how --- without money, connections, or time --- you could make the planet better?

Did you ever think about how you could improve everything for everyone? It would be grand to get a win-win-win for all involved:
Well, you've come to the right place! You are taking a momentous step in the right direction to accomplishing all of the above. And more!
How, you ask, can this happen?
Because with only minor improvements in what you eat each day, you will reap amazing benefits to yourself and the world around you.
You see, so many problems of our society are due to misinformation. (And those with vested interests are spending billions to keep us in the dark.) So, with that much misinformation surrounding us 24/7, and obliterating any possibility of our making intelligent choices, one cannot help but make destructive decisions.
But you know what? It does not have to be that way. Having the right information, we can make the RIGHT choices, and that MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE!
Only when we know all our choices, and their consequences, can we reverse the harmful course that we unknowingly chart for ourselves, our children, and our world.
EVEN serves as a resource providing information about the benefits of a plant-based diet, helping to connect inquiring people to an informed answer. The right information in the hands of caring people lets us make compassionate, intelligent and informed choices for ourselves, the animals, and our one and only earth home.
Each of us, by our own choices and through the example of our own lives, can make the world better or worse.
Each day the choice is ours.
What do we choose?
Three things cannot be long hidden:
The Sun, The Moon, and The Truth.
- Buddha
NOTE: These numbers do not include the billions of marine animals killed each year. They do not include the millions of animals killed in laboratories, fur farms, animal shelters, zoos, marine parks, or circuses. And they do not include the animals killed by human negligence, blood sports, abuse, or extermination attempts.

The more plants you eat, the more animals you'll spare from lives of suffering. Fewer mother pigs will be kept in crates so small they can barely move. Fewer egg-laying hens will be crammed into tiny cages. And fewer animals will be sent to slaughter. - HumaneSociety.org
Did you know that every vegan saves nearly 200 animals per year? There is simply no easier way to help animals and prevent suffering than by choosing plant-based foods over meat, eggs, and dairy "products." - PETA
Going vegan is one of the best things you can do to help stop animal cruelty. By refusing to pay for animal products, you reduce the demand for them, which ensures fewer animals are bred to suffer and die on farms and in slaughterhouses. - Animal Aid
If you want others to be happy,
practice compassion.
If you want to be happy,
practice compassion.
- Dalai Lama
The Golden Rule is of no use to you whatever unless you realize that it is your move. - Dr. Frank Crane, Presbyterian minister (1861 - 1928)

I always have to chuckle at the inevitable disclaimer, "talk to your health adviser before making any major dietary change." Right. How many people in the general public call their doctors at 7 p.m. and say, "Hey, Doc, I'm going to order a jumbo pizza with all the toppings and the stuffed crust tonight. Then I'm going to eat the whole thing, wash it down with a six-pack of Coke/beer, and watch TV all night. Is that OK??" Maybe the pizza ads should have a disclaimer on them as well, something like, be sure to check with your health provider about the wisdom of eating a diet high in saturated fats, calories, cholesterol, salt, and watching TV all night so you'd see this ad in the first place! - Sue Aberle, MS, RD
